Sum-up.

How was everyone's break? Mine was awesome. See the link to see what I'm thankful for.

The youth group that Lewis is getting together, has been quite successful. I had the next meeting down for Tuesday the 30th, but I may be mistaken. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

DeeAnne gave a good lesson on Ephesians 4:17-31. (Thank you for bailing me out.) We got into a good discussion about anger, and what it really meant to become created new when we are saved as a one time thing, and yet be created anew for the rest of our earthly lives.

Prayers and Praises:

Destine's neice in the hospital.
Alena's family situation.
The people who weren't there.
Ashley's mom.
*There was almost a chair shortage last night because of the abundance of people.*
Becca's jaw.
An unspoken coming from myself.
Lewis and Lisa. Nothing in particular, just in general.
Final Exams.
Kathy's family situation.
Dustin's
*Will's good choice in games. *
*A good converstation that Ed had last night.*
*A thought provoking skit performed by Jeremy, Shannon, and Dominic.

blog-props

Alright, so i have a question. What is the deal with this Ed Apida guy? I see he has a blog, and he is also a member of this community blog, but I never see any posts from him. Well, ok there was one that said "I found you todd" whoever todd is. Come on Ed, share with the group. Hey and i'm givin blog-props to Eric. Yes, keep the blogs short. That is, if you want people to read them. If you dont' give a rip, well then forget what i said. Becca, what i'm thankful for is that God's grace is sufficient. Have a great day guys.

Give Thanks

1 Thessalonians 5:17 & 18

"17. Keep on praying. 18 No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus." (NLT)
What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

Announcement.

Hello, all.

-Somewhat recently, I have seen some posts here that kind of make me think, about what my goal was for having this youth group blog, and the direction that some of the posts were going. And I guess that I would like to somewhat ask the posters to limit the length of their posts. Some of the posts would have been much more suited to a personal blog, rather than this one. If you make a long post about something, it would be fine to summarize it here, and then link it, so if someone wanted to read it, they could, but some people have a lot to keep track of, so they would probably only read the short one.

-If you make a prayer request, and you say one short sentence, you would get the same result as if you shared the entire story which was two paragraphs.

-L337, otherwise known as leet, is very hard to understand. Correct grammar and spelling is very much appreciated. There is a dictionary that is easily referenced when online, I use it when I have too.

-Checking and rereading my posts, and editing them, is something I obsessively do to make sure that they are correct. It would be far easier to read posts here if everybody would do the same. I am not saying that you have to obsess over perfection like I do, but reread your posts at least once, and please fix mistakes that you find.

-Jeremy's bible study was really good. Those who weren't there missed out.

-Will's bible study and Lewis' were very good as well. They both should post their notes.

That is all.

Verses: When Stressed or Lacking Direction

Last night before I went to bed, I was reading the Bible and I came across this verse which really spoke to me and gave me peace. Maybe you have heard or read it before, but read it again and ponder it.

Psalms 138:8
"The Lord will work out his plans for my life -for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don't abandon me, for you made me." (NLV)
This verse reminds me of Jeremiah 29:10b - 12 which says:
"10b. 'But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again.
11. For I know the plans I have for you,' says the Lord. 'They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
12. In those days when you pray, I will listen'." (NLT)

blognovellas

Why are all your blogs so long?? You force me to skim. I don't like being a blog-skimmer, but when it's sooooo long, you just kind of have to. Some of us don't have a lot of time on our hands. Ok, I admit I spent too much time playing Halo 2 in the past couple days, which would suggest that I have quite a bit of free time. Ok, granted. But what i'm saying is that I have limited access to the internet, and I don't have a lot of time to read blognovellas. Well, i'm done with my rant. I hope everyone has had a blessed day. Lewis, Will, and Eric have all done great jobs giving bible studies. And I'm confident that Jerome will do great too. Seeya tomorrow night.

The P's.

Prayer:
Cassie's mom who is in the hospital with a lot of pain following gall bladder surgery last week. Pray for Cassie as well, that she trusts God and doesn't worry too much.
Pray that James, whom I had a good conversation with last night, would still be open to hearing and accepting the Word.

Praises:
The wonderful day we had.
The quiet time I had, posted here if you want to check it out.
All the growth that has been going on, and that will still come- if we allow it.

Pray for Zarayah Gabrell

Please pray for my new niece, Zarayah Gabrell. Twenty four hours after she was born, my brother, sister-in-law, and nurses had noticed her having seizures. At 4 AM on Friday Zarayah was flown to the hospital in Rockford. She is currently in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). The doctor said that all of the tests came out fine except for the EEG (electroencephalograph). An EEG is an instrument that measures electrical potentials on the scalp and generates a record of the electrical activity of the brain. Anyway, Zarayah is on medication to help control the seizures and she was on a 24 hour EEG to see how frequent she was having the seizures; the medication is helping. Yesterday my brother called the hospital to check up on Zarayah and they told him that she hadn't had any more seizures. They also told him that she has been eating on her own and she will no longer need the feeding tube down her nose. Thank God! That is the most recent news that I have about Zarayah. Please be praying for Zarayah, and my family. It has been a very stressful and emotional week.

Estimated time: 1 hour and 20 minutes, distance: 81 miles. After the I-39 turnoff, the path will take us through the north section of Aurora and into Naperville, and judging from the map Route 34 might actually be a better route.

I would like to go, however I realize that it is very short notice.

Sunday the 14th:

We are splitting up, and I believe that Ed said that Todd was doing the study.

Tuesday the 16th:
Will's first bible study.

Sunday the 21st:

Lewis' first bible study.

On a side note, would anyone be offended if I edited and corrected spelling errors, possibly grammar errors, without changing your original intended meaning?

All of us make spelling mistakes, it looks extremely silly and I want to fix it; however, I wanted to ask first.

Question?

Is it wrong to have more than one accountability partner??
Or would it be better to have 1 accountability partner and then just have other people to encourage you and for you to encourage???

IT'S A GIRL!

Congratulations to Brian and Crystal Gorski (my brother and sister-in-law)!

They have a new baby girl! Her name is Zuraiah Gabrel Gorski. Her due date was on THANKSGIVING DAY (what a beautiful thing to be thankful for) but she was born today (11-3-04) at 11:04 AM. My sister-in-law was in labor for about 24 hours. She weighed 6 lbs and 12 oz, and was 20 inches long. I had my mom take some pictures so if I can figure out how to post them on here then I will. Thank you for the prayers when my sister-in-law was in the hospital about 3 weeks ago due to some early contractions, which thankfully were stopped by medication and bed rest. Please continue to pray for this new family. By the way, I love being an aunt.

TMJ and Jaw Dislocation

Here is the update on my jaw...

I saw the TMJ and Facial Pain Specialist today. After taking an x-ray, asking me many questions, and feeling my jaw the Doctor diagnosed me with several things (I'll ask specifically what they are exactly next time I see him.) which only two stuck out in my mind: 1. I have TMJ (temporomandibular joint --> better know as jaw pain/discomfort), and 2. my jaw is dislocated. To solve this problem will cost approximately $2,400, which is NOT covered by insurance, and it will take appoximately 4-6 months to heal. I will have to see the specialist almost once every week until my jaw is back to normal. Therefore, the next visit (Thursday November 11th at 1pm) I will have to go back to get my teeth molded for a "brace" (or appliance, whatever you want to call it). Then a week later, I go back to pick up the mouth piece which I will have to wear the bottom one all of the time and the top one only at night. The "brace" looks like clear plastic retainers which some people have after they have braces on their teeth. As time goes on, I will have to have some more intense x-rays taken of mainly my jaw bone (instead of my jaw and teeth). Thankfully, my parents are going to pay for me to have this done. I just pray that my family will not be too financially hurt by all of this, because if I hear about any money issues then I am going to want to blame myself, even though I know that there is and was nothing that I can do about it. There is more about my jaw, but I do not know specifics at this time. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers. I feel so much more relieved now since I have taken one step in the process of getting my jaw to be back to normal. I am still in pain while chewing, yawning, singing, etc. so PLEASE keep me in your prayers that if it be God's will that He heals my jaw completely.

Once again, Thank you!
:O)
