Immediate Prayer Request

Hello all, this is Rolland Scheinkenburg. I'm speaking on Todd's behalf today. He had mentioned that his intention was to write a letter, like on actual paper, and mail it, like at the actual post office. But it just wasn't happening that way. So he asked me to post a blog for him telling the youth group just how much he missed you all. So here I am, doing just that. Todd is really enjoying his job, although he has found it challenging. It has also caused him to grow as a person because he is learning to combine his subtle way of confronting people with assertiveness (because this is essential to the job). His co-workers are really nice and very helpful. He also said that the first Sunday after he had moved he was in Peoria with Joan, and visited her church (Riverside Community Church), but that he intends to visit the First Assembly of God church over on Quentin Rd. pretty soon. He would very much appreciate your continued prayers, as he continues to keep you in his prayers.
Jeremy, it ended up that todd didn't come through Mendota on that Friday, so he was unable to pick up his diploma and asks that you would please continue to hold on to it and keep it safe for him. Thank you very much.
Todd also said:
Ed and DeeAnne, keep up the good work. Lewis and Lisa, Eric and Becca, Jeremy and Amanda, be good. Ashley, I couldn't believe it but even here, people talk about you. Lane, the kids at the house all wanted to watch Napolean Dynamite the other night and it reminded me of you. "I'll do whatever I feel like I wanna do... gosh"
Oh, and Shannon keep up the good work on the college youth group, you are also in my prayers.
Josh, you also keep up the good work and stay out of trouble.
Ok, now i've mentioned so many names I feel like I should mention everybody's
So Dan, Brad, Brittany, JoLynn, Will, and everybody I'm forgetting right now (i'm in a rush) and of course everybody i mentioned in the above text. I miss you guys, and I hope everything is well. Don't hate me if I didn't mention your name, I was just going by a mental picture I have of like the last two meetings. I love you guys. Peace out
p.s. did you notice that I was getting tired of the third person?
Steph Arias made a prayer request here but left it as a comment, so I wanted to make sure that all could see it and respond to it.
That is all.
I have a story to share about the retreat: There was one part, when one of the older men (read: age 25 or so) was sharing his testimony, and one of the kids was doing a divination, which was expained as a ritual that can be performed with any object on a chain that releases power or something. (If somone can clarify in a comment, that would be good.)But the pendant on the end of the chain which was nothing special, was being swung back and forth, and the swinging intensified. At that moment, the speaker had all of his words cut off. He paced around for about 15 seconds in complete silence, with all of our eyes on him. Two people then prayed at the same time, one knowing what was going on and one not, and the swinging died down and then the speaker gave a powerful testimony. I did not witness the timing of the swinging, but I was there during this silence, and it seemed that everybody was silenced. Spiritual warfare is real. Our stuggle is not against flesh and blood, but against our common enemy, Satan. But God proved his superiority over Satan that day, which is an illustration of which side is truly the winning side. Let it be known that our enemy is the devil, not ourselves!
