Is there anyone who disagrees with this? If everyone says that they agree with it, then where is the evidence? Why aren't we all living fruitful lives? Why do we all blame the small group on the leaders, or think that the group is small because no one wants to come? I find it interesting that the people I talk too that think that things are going on, are the people who are never there. If you have disagreements, then talk to the leaders. But running solves nothing, and if you run away, then that indicates that you don't care enough to see the problem resolved. Or that means that you don't want to take responsibility to see the problem resolved, so you try to push the responsibility off onto other people who may not see it as a problem. We are all one in Christ. We are one body. And by thinking wrong things about other people and not caring enough about them and about the biblical way to do things, we are putting down Christ's body. Because we are Christ's body. And just as we honor our own body because of what God does for us, how much more do we need to honor others in order to honor Christ's body? Fellow believers are the body of Christ. The church is the bride of Christ. But if we decide that we don't like fellow believers, or that we don't like church, then we are not liking Christ's body and bride; and therefore, how much can we claim to love Christ himself? A further note: The word for church means assembly. If you scroll down far enough, you find the definitin and the word's eytomology. Us meeting as a youth group qualifies as an assembly that meets to together to give glory to God and grow closer to Him. Therefore, by the word's original definition, youth group is church. And anyone who decides they don't like youth group or that they don't like what the youth group is doing or that the don't like what the leaders are doing is claiming not to like Christ's bride. Yes, the leaders are not perfect, and yes, I'm sure that they (and I myself) have made mistakes in the past. But if you don't like it, then talk to somebody. Don't waste your breath and bandwith venting about it to a person or a website that can't solve your problem. Does that really seem like something Godly to do? If you don't like what you're seeing, but you're not going to do something about it, then why bother coming? Everyone in the group can have some influence. The choice is yours as to whether or not you show up enough to speak up and excersise that influence. The leaders are here to serve God first, and serve you second. But by not attending regularly or just not talking about what bothers you, you make it more difficult. The next time you see something you disagree with, DO something constructive or don't complain. That's the rule with voting, isn't it? If you don't vote, then you have no right to complain about the way things are being run. Only the difference is, everybody can vote in the youth group. You all have a say. But you can't really say much of anything if you're not there. So, if you want influence, if you want to have a say in how things will be changed, then show up and say something. I challenge you to Be bold. Be bold and say what's on your mind, and then we can address the issues.
